. Sedatives
Hi, I am writing this post to tell you guys the dangers and a little bit about sedatives. Sedatives are drugs that sedate you reducing irritability and excitement.
Sedatives are helpful for some diseases but are also some of the most abused drugs in the world. Types of sedatives and tranquilizers: opium, narcotics, heroin, and barbiturates are all commonly abused sedatives . When abused some of these drugs can be extremely dangerously.
ABOUT OPIUM:
Opium is a great medicine it can be very dangerous to abuse it. When abusing opium the side effects/ consequences are: malnutrition which is when the body is lacking nutrients and can be so severe you can get permanently damaged even though you're still alive, types of respiratory complications like Respiratory acidosis or Respiratory failure , and Low Blood Pressure (HypoTension). These side effects are EXTREMELY dangerous and can result in permanent injury or death although we now have medicine that can help with the side effects of this prescription drug overdose effects. Opium is made from the opium poppy plant. Opium is the least potent of the opiates. Opium is a narcotic drug that helps with diarrhea by decreasing fluid secretions in the intestine. Do not use this drug if you have any allergies to narcotics. While using opium do not drink alcohol for it could cause death. I think the doctors should use as little amount of opium as they possibly can on their patients to prevent the cause of overdose for this particular sedative. Opium is often converted to heroin since it's much easier to smuggle. Here is a picture of opium in its drug form. Morphine is developed out of opium so here's a little bit about morphine. Morphine is a painkiller and most often used after surgeries. Some signs of overdose may be: drowsiness, low heart rate, limp muscles, small pupils, fluid in lungs, and death. If you have overdosed on morphine then seek a doctor quickly or you could possibly die.

ABOUT NARCOTICS:
Narcotics is a drug that puts you to sleep or relieves pain. This drug can be easily overdosed if you can’t sleep very well or you’re in pain from a broken limb etc. Narcotics help with cough or diarrhea. The word Narcotic comes from the greek word narkotikos which in greek means sleep. Side effects of overdose/ addiction of narcotics: loss of appetite, constipation, sweating, trouble breathing, pain, dry mouth, hallucinations, nausea, and vomiting. Narcotics are regularly abused because the users of it say it gives you a sense of peace and makes you feel relieved. People abuse narcotics because it gives some users a sense of being free with no cares and users say it makes you feel outer world peace so they keep abusing narcotics and get addicted. The users of narcotics say they wished they hadn’t gotten addicted because they physically depend on it and just can’t quit. Narcotics are one of the most valuable drugs to physicians. Narcotics numb the perception of pain in the user so it is very useful for physicians. My thoughts on narcotics are why would you abuse these drugs if you know your life could be ruined so don’t throw your life away don’t get addicted to narcotics and have to depend on narcotics to get you through the day. Here is a picture of narcotics in the drug form.
ABOUT HEROIN:
When you take heroin people say your life revolves around it and it’s all you think about. You stop eating and become socially derelict. When you become addicted to heroin the possible effects could be: Liver disease, skin infections, Infection of the heart lining, hepatitis b and c, and possibly death. The name Heroin comes from the word hero. Heroin depresses the brain and the spinal column like morphine or opioid. Once you get addicted to heroin you become a wreck and some people do not eat their whole life is wrapped around this drug. All they do is try and earn money for heroin use heroin or making connections to people who have heroin. Some people say they would rather die than go through addiction because you can’t quit. I think that there are so many dangers in abusing heroin like getting addicted or overdose and possibly dying, losing your job, losing your family, getting infections or diseases from a syringe, and losing your life that what's the point in getting addicted when it’s your life you could be throwing away. Here is a picture of herion in its drug from.
ABOUT BARBITURATES:
Barbiturates are a drug used for epilepsy, assisted suicide, and amnesia. Overdose on the drug is extremely serious so they usually use benzodiazepines since it’s less dangerous if overdosed. Barbiturates are used legally all around the world but they are used illegally more than legally. The people who are usually addicted to barbiturates are patients who have gotten addicted from to much of it from a doctor teenagers who are getting high but don’t know their risking their life everyday and narcotics addicts. People are sometimes misled by thinking that barbiturates are safe and can’t risk your life sometimes from doctors commonly prescribe it but in fact it is very deadly if overdosed. Barbiturates is smoked, taken in pills, injected, and rarely taken rectally. They are one of the most widely used legally and illegally. Some side effects that you have been overdosed are: incoordination, drowsiness, slow speech, bad judgement, and in some cases going into a coma or death. Why would you even try to abuse this drug if it is as bad as being able to cause death from overdose? Don’t play a game with your life every time you use just don’t abuse this drug. Here is a picture of barbiturates.
So are drugs bad for you?
